A news survey shows that AI use among high schoolers has exploded in recent months, as educators and parents struggle to keep up.

About 37 percent of teens report their schools don’t have clear policies on AI, and 42 percent say their teachers mostly prohibit AI use.

Common Sense Media talked with more than 1,000 teens and found that most of them are using Artificial Intelligence, primarily to help them with their homework. However, parents are often left out of the loop and teachers don’t always make it clear what the rules are around AI.
